Hygienists

Each of our hygienists has been chosen for their communication skills and their ability to provide supportive maintenance care to patients who have completed their initial treatment. They are also involved, in some cases, in helping patients prepare before having complex treatment. Teamwork is paramount in specialist practice, with hygienists providing the interface between patients and their periodontist.

Nina Smith

Nina graduated from Otago Polytechnic obtaining the National Certificate in Dental Hygiene in 1998. Nina has been involved in dentistry for 23 years, first working as a chair side assistant and for the last 15 years as a hygienist.

She has worked in a number of practice environments, and for the last five years in our practice. She is a highly experienced and skilled clinician.
